2. Jessica Ramos is running for Senate Jackson Heights / Corona. They are operating canvassing efforts that meet on Saturday, June 16th at Junction Playground at 33-59 Junction Blvd in Corona to canvass Corona, and on Sunday, June 24th at Metropolis Realty at 29-17 23rd Avenue to canvass Astoria / Corona - both from 11 am to 3 pm to get Jessica on the ballot. 3. Alexandria Ocasio is running for Congress 14th District. Weather. The Temperature highs will be around 80 and the temperature lows will be in the mid 60's throughout the weekend. There's No Rain in the weekend forecast. Thalia Theatre at 41-17 Greenpoint Avenue in Sunnyside has a new show, Tango Flamenco Fusion, that begins at 8 pm on Friday and Saturday, and at 4 pm on Sunday. Saturday - Get Out the Vote, Putin's Russia, Dance Festival, Flamenco & Tango

Most other primaries are in September. This weekend candidates seeking a place on the ballot for the September primary begin petitioning efforts with the electorate - see details below.

The Jamaica Dance Festival presents highlights from the Harlem Stage signature dance series, E-Moves. A dance workshop begins at 7.30 pm in Rufus King Park at Jamaica Avenue and 150th Street in Jamaica and the performance begins at 8 pm. The performance features contemporary African choreographers including Omari Mizrahi, Tatiana Desardouin and Titilayo Derricote [dance / free].

1. Jessica Ramos is running for Senate Jackson Heights / Corona. They are operating canvassing efforts that meet on Sunday, June 24th at Metropolis Realty at 29-17 23rd Avenue to canvass Astoria / Corona - both from 11 am to 3 pm to get Jessica on the ballot. Info at ramosforstatesenate.com.

2. Alexandria Ocasio is running for Congress 14th District. While the candidates above are petitioning for ballot signatures, Alexandria's primary is on Tuesday, June 26th, so she is hosting get out the vote efforts at 40-08 Case Street on the 2nd Floor [between Roosevelt and Elmhurst Avenues] in Jackson Heights / Corona on 1) Saturday & Sunday, June 23 & 24, from 11.30 am to 9 pm, 2) Monday 6/25 beginning at 2.30 pm to 9 pm, and 3) Tuesday 6/26 [election day] from 5.30 am to 10 pm. This is a nice example of the dynamic interaction and dialogue / exchange inherent in a free-speech democracy.
