Brief Report From Silver Cup Studios In Long Island City On Writers' Strike

Long Island City Queens NY / November 7, 2007. We decided to follow up on the Writers' Strike by visiting Silver Cup Studios in Long Island City. We were there approximately between 2 and 3 pm on Wednesday. We were surprised not to find any strikers anywhere in the vicinity as Silver Cup Studios are a significant player in the metro area.

Silver Cup Studio Strikers Moved From LIC To NYC

We asked an unidentified Silver Cup Studio employee as to the strikers' whereabouts. He told us that they had moved onto another strike location in Manhattan at Chelsea Piers. While surprised, we can only surmise that the WGA approach to striking more about public relations and strike events, than it is on putting pressure on a particular work location where in all likelihood the executives who make the decisions don't work. That's show business for ya'.
