Farmers' Market Begins 2008 Season In Sunnyside
Sunnyside / April 2008. The Farmers markets in the borough of Queens opened April 5th. These markets generally offer farm fresh meat, vegetables and fruits, as well as fresh seafood for prices competitive with the area supermarkets and sometimes for less. Many people enjoy the social atmosphere, shopping in the open air and the natural and fresh offerings provided by such markets. The market opens at 7 am every Saturday and generally begins to wind down about 3 pm. The pictures taken here were of the Farmers Market in Sunnyside, located along Skillman Avenue and 43rd Street. It's walking distance from Sunnyside, Astoria and parts of Long Island City, although the other two neighborhoods also have markets of their own.
