Queens NY / June 19, 2009. Queens offers easy access to a wide range of recreational facilities and events. One recreational option is the horse races as at least one Queens horse race track is open year round. The Belmont Race Track is open from late April to late October, but there's a hiatus from the end of July to early September when the races are held in Saratoga. The Acqueduct Race Track is open from late October through late April, and offers a flea market during the summer months. Note, however, that the race tracks are not open all of the time and weather can close the track at Belmont.

The following is a brief description of the Belmont and Acqueduct horse race tracks in Queens.

Acqueduct Race Track - Jamaica NY Queens

The Acqueduct Race Track is located in Jamaica Queens. The racetrack is host to the horse races of the NYRA during the winter months from October through April.

There is no charge to view the races and parking is only $5.

Belmont Race Track - Elmont Queens

The Belmont Race Track is located in eastern Queens in Elmont. The horse race track is open from late April to the end of July and again from early September through late October.

Grandstand admission is $2 and Clubhouse admission is $5. Parking is $5.
