January 12 & 13: Demonstration by Paul Chaleff
Saturday 11 am - 1 pm and 3 - 5 pm and Sunday lecture at 3 pm. Artist in residence, Paul Chaleff, will talk about Noguchi's influence on his work as he builds a large clay sculpture. Free with admission.
Thru April 28, 2013: Hammer, Chisel & Drill: Noguchi's Studio Practice
This exhibit highlights a variety of Noguchi's work taken from the museum's collection. It focuses on the process of sculpting.

This exhibit includes 140 works by 32 artists during tumultuous times as African Americans asserted their civil and social rights in the U.S. During this time African Americans began to grab hold of their place in America's cultural pantheon.
Thru April 1: Unnatural Histories
This exhibit includes sculptures made with found materials, depicting the human body as both grotesque and monumental. By Pakistani born American artist Huma Bhabha.
Thru April 1: Tender Love Among The Junk
Modern collages of paint and found materials by Thomas Lanigan-Schmidt.

Louis Armstrong House In Corona NY
Thru May 1, 2013: Louis Armstrong At Freedomland
Freedomland was an 85 acre amusement park that opened in the Bronx in 1960 and closed in late 1964. Louis Armstrong played there twice in 1961 and 1964. This exhibit explores Armstrong's life during the turbulent 50's and 60's. Admission $10 / $7 which includes 40 minute House Tour - last one begins at 4 pm.

The Flushing facilities are open year around. Bring a swimming suit, a swimming cap and quality padlock to be admitted to the pool. And you can rent skates to use the world ice arena [both in the same buillding].
