Noguchi Museum In Long Island City
March 13: Second Sundays - South Of The Border
At 3 pm. History as seen from Mexico by American artists in the 1930's including work by Isamu Noguchi. Mexico public works sponsored art in the 1930's. Isamu Noguchi was among those who created public art, in this case, in the form of a mural. Free with admission.
Through April 24: On Becoming An Artist: Isamu Noguchi And His Contemporaries, 1922 - 1960
This exhibit explores Isamu Noguchi's career and early development. It includes earlier works and his interactions with; as well as influences on and by forty of his contemporaries.

Paris Abstractions and Peking Brush Paintings are on exhibit from the museum's permanent collection.

Eighteen artists explore the concept of performer and audience in an exhibit that explores TV talent shows, social media and government surveillance.

Interactive video game installation by Beijing artist who plays off of Super Mario Brothers and Street Fighter II. The game includes government propaganda and the hero is a Red Army soldier.

Both facilities open year 'round. Bring a swimming suit, a swimming cap and quality padlock to be admitted to the pool. And you can rent skates to use the world ice arena [both in the same buillding]. The pool is open Monday - Friday from 6 am to 10 pm, Saturday from 9 am - 10 pm and Sunday from 9 am - 8 pm. Annual Fee is $75 adults / $10 seniors / and under 18 is free.

The Secret Theatre In LIC Long Island City
March 9 - 12, 16 - 20 & 23 - 26: Three Sisters
At 8 pm with one matinee on the 19th at 3 pm. A Chekhov play about three sisters whose father died. This is the story of their return to their home in a village far away from the bright lights and big city of Moscow. Admission $15.
March 26: Down The Rabbit Hole
Begins at 8 pm. This is a multi-media performance, including toy pianos, music boxes, electronics, video and sound. Admission $15.

The Chocolate Factory In Long Island City
March 3, 4, 5: Second Language
At 8 pm Thursdays through Saturdays. The theme of this production is English as a second language. The thesis is that all languages are a second language to helping us understand one another. This is a collaborative effort with LaGuardia Community College. Admission $15.

At 8 pm. K.J. Holmes performance art. I didn't get the gist of it. Admission $15.
March 24 - 26: We Deserve Each Other
At 8 pm. Solo performance, love letter to community in which she thrives by Sarah Maxfield. Admission $15.

This is the story of an Ecuadorian woman who's suitcase is accidentally switched with somone else's. In her quest to retrieve her belongings she encounters dreamers, lovers, fighters, a magical cell phone, books that come to life and the best damned guitar player in the world.
