Through August 8: Modern Women Single Channel

This is an exhibit in videos done by eleven women from around the globe from the 1960's to the 1990's.

Through April 4: The Talent Show

Eighteen artists explore the concept of performer and audience in an exhibit that explores TV talent shows, social media and government surveillance.

Through April 4: Feng Mengbo

Interactive video game installation by Beijing artist who plays off of Super Mario Brothers and Street Fighter II. The game includes government propaganda and the hero is a Red Army soldier.

April 30: A Day In The Butterfly Garden

From 10 am - 3 pm. Origami butterfly workshop from 11 am - 1 pm done in tandem with broader program including Western Queens Compost Initiative, NYC Parks & Recreation, Queens Botanical Gardens Composters & Partnership for Parks.

The Butterfly Garden is located on the east side of the park [near 19th Street and 23rd Road] under the Hellgate Bridge. Look for hawthorne and mulberry trees, milkweed and a number of other unusual plants.

Al Oerter Recreational Facility

April: Public Indoor Basketball Court, Computer Labs, Exercise Rooms, Handball Court, Dance Studio & Ping Pong Tables In Queens

This is a beautiful, relatively new facility. They are open Monday through Friday 6 A - 10 P and Saturday 9 A - 5 P. Closed for important holidays. Bring padlock for locker and a change of clothes for athletics.

Both facilities open year 'round. Bring a swimming suit, a swimming cap and quality padlock to be admitted to the pool. And you can rent skates to use the world ice arena [both in the same buillding].
