Thru August: Do It (Outside)
From 2 - 6 pm. 2013 Season opening reception of summer sculpture done by Christoff: Finio Architecture done by interpreting instructions given by 60 artists. Also opening in the park will be: Tree Wood by Toshihiro Oki in glen, Beyond The Hedges (Slivered Gazebo) by Heather Rowe, and Her Nuclear Waters by Chitra Ganesh at the entrance. Admission free.

There are a host of free films being shown outside at parks around the borough. Astoria Park, Socrates Sculpture Park and a park in Sunnyside, just to mention a few. Not sure what QMA is doing, as they will not be hosting their Passport Film Series. We'll post more later this week.
August 17: Queens World Film Festival Rockaways
Showing of a number of the top films from the Queens World Film Festival 2013. Begins at Beach and 86th Street in the Rockaways at dusk [7.30 - 8 pm]. Admission free.
August 6 - 12 & 13- 18: Chain Film Festival
Various times. International film festival at 21-25 45th Road in LIC. Admission.
Museum Of The Moving Image - Astoria

NYC Parks – Indoor Swimming & Ice Skating In Queens NY
August: Aquatic Center & World Class Ice Rink
The Flushing facilities are open year around. Bring a swimming suit, a swimming cap and quality padlock to be admitted to the pool. And you can rent skates to use the world ice arena [both in the same buillding].
