Flux Factory - Long Island City
January : No Flux Thursday
In January there's a fundraiser on the second Wednesday in lieu of the Flux Thursday. Begins at 8 pm. On the second Thursday of every month there's a potluck dinner with presentations & conversation. This month the presentations include TBD. Free with food or beverage contribution.

New exhibit about Noguchi's influence by master ink painter Qi Baishi under whom Noguchi studied in Beijing circa 1930. Baishi was a famous Chinese artists who painted small things like ants and crickets.
Thru January 26, 2014: Space, Choreographed: Noguchi & Ruth Page
New exhibit exploring relationship between Noguchi and avante garde dancer and choreographer Ruth Page.

NYC Parks – Indoor Swimming & Ice Skating In Queens NY
January: Aquatic Center & World Class Ice Rink
The Flushing facilities are open year around. Bring a swimming suit, a swimming cap and quality padlock to be admitted to the pool. And you can rent skates to use the world ice arena [both in the same buillding].
